Appy Pie Announces Support for Windows Phone Apps & HTML5 Mobile Websites
The arrival of Windows 8 on 26 October 2012 marked a significant shift in the world of windows based mobiles, with the operating system’s interface changing dramatically for touchscreen optimization on mobile devices. This new OS also meant a new platform for app development for users of Appy Pie, the fast growing cloud based Mobile Apps Builder that allows users with no programming skills to create an App, which now has added Support for Windows Phone 8 Apps .
Make Windows 8 App with Appy Pie
Apart from adding Support for Windows Phone 8 Apps, Appy Pie also added a feature that would be of great benefit to users without a mobile website as now Apps created using Appy Pie’s Builder will also act as Mobile Websites. This feature will allow a user to apply or configure redirect code between their “desktop website” and their mobile website simply by copying the 2 lines of code into the Head tag of their desktop website, When applied correctly, a user trying to view the desktop website from a mobile device, will be automatically redirected to the mobile website. This allows for minimal effort by a visitor and provides them the optimal experience.
When Windows 8 was announced we felt it was an important step to enable users of Appy Pie to be able to publish a native Windows 8 app as the platform opportunity got bigger with Introduction of Cost Effective Lumia Range of Windows 8 Mobiles from Nokia. In the last couple of Months, we have seen a big increase in the number of users asking us of when are we announcing support for Windows 8 Phone Apps, now when we have added this support we’re looking forward to seeing our users publishing there apps in Windows Phone Apps+Games Store.
