Happy Birthday Facebook: 8 Years of Networking

Thanks to Facebook that we remember birthdays of all our friends, now it time to wish Facebook. Its celebration time at Facebook office all over globe, our most loved social networking site Facebook turned 8 today. Mark Zukerberg along with his college roommates and fellow students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes launched Facebook on 4th February 2004 in his dorm room at Harvard University, and since then it has come a long way.

Facebook is the second most visited site on internet (First being Google). FB will soon be reaching the mark of 1 billion users by August 2012. US contributes to maximum number of Facebook users almost 156 million users, followed by India (43.4 million) and Indonesia (43.05 million) users.

Recently Facebook filed for its IPO on 1st February 2012, and sent the Wall Street roaring. The Facebook IPO will be the biggest ever traded.

A social networking site that was meant to connect Harvard Student, but now it has become the world largest social networking site. It had tremendously impacted our lives and changed the way we communicate to generating business leads. We wish Facebook a Very Happy Birthday and many more happy years to come 🙂
