How to Show Hidden Files in FileZilla FTP Client
Webmasters like me have to have constantly interact with their Web server through FTP client and one of the most popular FTP client is FileZilla but I got stuck when I could not find the Show Hidden Files option in FileZilla ,It took me lot of tinkering and exploring to find out that in earlier versions 2.x it used to be at Menu Bar->View->Show hidden file , But since version 3.x ( the latest ones) these guys shifted it to a rather unexpected location yes , now it is at Menu bar->Server->Force Showing Hidden Files (last option)
Now you can easily edit your .htaccess files and other such hidden files without any problem .
Hope that helped .
Thanks! I just spent a bunch of time going through all the FileZilla Settings options looking for this, and didn’t find it anywhere. I should have just googled & found your helpful post first! Thanks for giving me the answer. (-:

Hi, I have a similar problem, listings of all folders is good, but when it comes to php or html files they just dont show up, why ?
is there something i have to change in the settings for Filezilla…
Hi Jeff, I have been using Filezilla for several years and I’m 100% sure that the default FileZilla configuration ( When you install it fresh ) and unless you have done some really Techie changes ( Which I think you have’nt ) then the Only reason could be you dont actually have any files on the Server, try uploading some files to your server and also see that you have file upload permissions on your server .
Thanks Buddy, saved me pulling my hair out!
Hi, yes great tip and you’d think that they would default that option from install wouldn’t you? Also make sure that if any of you are using any Adobe software such as Dreamweaver CS4, check your file and folder settings there as well.
