Paperman: Disney’s Innovative Oscar Nominated Short Film
Disney brings back the charm of black and white with Paperman. You would fall in love with this beautiful six minute short film from Walt Disney Animation Studios. Paperman is nominated in Oscar’s this year and is now available to watch fully on YouTube. Paperman’s Director John Kahrs displays a perfect blend of computer-generated and hand-drawn animation techniques with minimalist black-and-white style. This innovative step has certainly rendered John Kahrs his first Oscar nomination and that too for his first movie 🙂
Paperman is a story of how a lonely young man in New York City meets a beautiful young lady on his daily and boring day to office in the morning. The meeting of this beautiful girl adds a little spark to his life, but soon the girl boards a train and leave the seen. The young man starts to believes that he would never get another chance to meet her again, but to his surprise he gets a second chance and sees her at the opposite building attending an interview.
The film further depicts how he tries to make efforts to catch attention of girl of his dream by throwing paper planes at her in another building, but all his attempts prove futile, until the last paper plane that he throws, which changes his destiny.
