Stop YouTube From Prompting to Use Your Real Name
YouTube is making every effort to put an end to filthy comments and remarks that is very common now under comment thread of majority of YouTube Videos. And because of the measure undertaken by Google asks all its users to use their real account name who are logged in YouTube.
The real account name is drawn from the users Google+ account and when anyone signs up for an account on Google they are required to user their real name on Google Plus. The name mentioned on Google+ then flashes everytime a user uploads a video or writes any comment on YouTube video. So its the best example of forced integration of service.
Google mentioned in blog post in September 2013:
When it comes to the conversations happening on YouTube, recent does not necessarily mean relevant. So, comments will soon become conversations that matter to you. In the coming months, comments from people you care about will rise up where you can see them, while new tools will help video creators moderate conversations for welcome and unwelcome voices.
The whole idea of all this is to stop users from leaving nasty remarks and comments under false identity and the argument continuing over it, and obviously no-one would want to associate their public image to these disturbing comments.
Google asking for real name has already been marked concerns of users regarding security issues. And there are reason (like stalking, which is very common now) that some people do not want to use their real name to display. There are already many complaints that are lodged on YouTube’s support forums. One of the complaint over YouTube forum reads
This practice of asking users to display their full names undermines the privacy expectations of your users, leaving them vulnerable to being traced by criminals and other internet predators. This practice also (in some instances) grants certain Copyright claimants, such as Viacom, accessible knowledge of the individual users on YouTube, enabling the claimants to invasively and illegally seek out individuals for Copyright Infringement. And this practice potentially exposes you, who seeks to display this information, to unanticipated legal liability.
The issue is that YouTube continuously asks for using a real name and a pop-up dialog appears everytime for this no matter what answer you choose for it.
Reddit user dmurrow who also got pestered many times by real name using policy by Google shows a trick that will stop the users from getting that dreaded pop-ups on YouTube.
